Congratulation for celebrating Christmas and move to your new home. Yeah…more productive in future, specially in 2012.
Thanks, Syed!
All the best for 2012 to you and yours!
Great stuff Shane…
Really hits home for me. It is so easy, especially when you are self-employed, to get into an unproductive rut occasionally. I am going to take your advice and make some changes to my environment that will hopefully be a catalyst for change and growth in the coming year.
Thanks so much,
Rick Burnett
Thanks for your comment, Rick!
I agree that this is one of the downsides of being self-employed: it’s so much easier to just slack off, when no one’s watching over your shoulder. And it’s also easier to be disorganized and ineffective, when there’s no one else but you in charge of the game-plan.
A challenge I’m sure we can both overcome, though. :)
Hi Shane,
so you moved to Romania – WOW. Big city or more rural?
To your problem of resolutions not being enough sometimes and one has to take more drastic measures to achieve certain goals, I can definitely relate to.
I for example am known to loose focus very quickly and I am embarrassed to say that most of they time it takes many month before I even realize it.
What drastic measures could I take…
Ein frohes Weihnachtsfest, in deiner neuen Umgebung, wünscht dir –
Uwe
Hi Uwe,
I moved to Timisoara, which is the third-biggest city in Romania, if I’m not mistaken.
Focus is definitely another one of those challenges for anyone working on their own business. I have to admit that that’s one of my weaknesses as well, since I tend to get involved in too many things, all at the same time.
All the best to you and yours!
Nice Sweater Shane.
Makes me glad that I moved to Thailand and not Romania, hot here all the time, but the point taken.
Bruce
Hey Bruce,
Thailand must be nice! Don’t know if I would want to live there, but it’s definitely on my “to-visit” list. :)
Good luck to you in your new home. I mentioned to my wife that you moved to Romania. She speculated that you might have been bitten by a vampire as vampires are all the rage these days. It does seem like the in thing to do! LOL Merry Christmas!
Haha, good thinking! I haven’t met any vampires yet. Maybe they’re all hanging out further in the north. :)
Merry Christmas to you too!
I have been sitting here the last few days trying to get out of that rut. Thanks for tweaking my mind.
Amos
Glad I could help! I’m sure you can fight your way out of the rut and start 2012 with lots of momentum. Go for it!
You’ll love the country, I’m from there and it’s awesome. Wish I could move back.
Good job on forcing change. It’s a big thing for many people and shows you don’t have a fear of change, fear cripples us. Thanks again for the video, I appreciate it.
I’m liking it very much so far! But there’s still a lot to discover.
Thanks for your comment, Victor!
That looks like a geansaí Nollaig you’re wearing there Shane :-)
Hi Niall,
I was not familiar with this name, before. It may very well be what I’m wearing. I got it as a present, to help me survive the cold winter in Romania. :D
Shane, first of all happy holiday’s. I want to thank you for the insight you gave on your move to Romania. It’s very unusual that people give such personal insight but considering the difficult time we are all facing I think a lot of your subscribers can appreciate the mindset and the courage behind such an important move! My compliments! I know it isn’t an easy step (I moved to Italy 20 years ago) but if you set your mind to it and you’ll be absolutely convinced of the positive outcome you will succeed!!
So I hope you’ll have a wonderful and somehow productive ;-) holiday in your new house.
I am already looking forward to view your next video (LQ is ok, since the information you provide is always useful and interesting)! Cheers! R.
Thanks, Roger!
I’m glad you appreciate the personal style of my videos, even if they aren’t all closely marketing-related. :)
Shane, very smart move…
Dumping the videos games from your life will not only improve your business, it will breath more energy back into everything you do! Plus the move to Romania sounds like good economics too.
The addiction to video games seems to be a new phenomenon for way too many people these days. It literally sucks away the precious time you have left, and gives back nothing more than distraction from the things that are really important. I’m even seeing marriages and relationships going on the rocks because of it!
Congratulations on seeing this and coming to grips with it – I applaud you!
Merry Christmas and a happy new year,
Cliff Pasta
Washington State, USA
Hi Cliff,
Thanks for your comment!
The videogame thing actually wasn’t very recent. That was more than a year ago, I think.
However, it’s true that gaming, TV and various other idle distractions can turn into very serious problems if they aren’t kept in some kind of balance with “real life”.
Merry Christmas to you and yours as well!
Challenging your comfort zone.
That is probably the most important thing to do in life in order to live it to its fullest and also the hardest thing to do (at least for me).
This is number one thing I will be working on improving in 2012.
Hi Dave,
That’s a great way to put it! It’s always a bad sign, when I’m getting too comfortable, because it means there’s no real progress happening.
I wish you all the best for 2012!
I go along with what Rick Burnett says. I have spent the last 4-6 months building my business without doing any selling. I keep ending up with new and improved methods of doing things. Well If I try and stay on the very top all the time of (software- methods etc..) I never end up with time to sell Off line. I am deleting subscription’s from WSO,s creators so my inbox will slow down. I have slowed way down on Webinars as well. So as soon as these holidays are over I am hitting the street and getting new clients. why wait? Because from what I have seen people (businesses just don’t care around the holidays) So I will hit them after the new year and invite them to make a fresh start to the way they have been getting new business.
Yes, that is exactly what you need to do! Trying to have the perfect product/service/business before you start selling it is one of the biggest and most common mistakes made by start-ups, in my opinion. And of course, I have made this mistake several times as well.
It’s really important to learn to say “this is good enough” and just start selling. You can always keep improving as you go along.
Spot on! There’s so many external things in the world of SEM – SEO that you can’t control. So many of our efforts are rather indirect without clear and direct cause and effect real-time responses. It often takes our time and energy investments to some sort of ‘existential’ level.
I’m a big fan of Self-Imposed Change – whether that’s to a different mental or physical space. Shake it up! Wake it up! Step away, dive in from a different angle – because adapting to change is perhaps the greatest Internet Marketing skill you can possess and develop.
Very well put. Thanks for your comment, Glenn!
Hey Shane,
It’s the same thing that I do. I use to play a lot of video games too, so what I did was to just have no games at all. Neither do I buy any of the games consoles.
It was the same thing with chatting. I use to chat online a lot… like really a lot. So now, I refuse to have any messaging software on my computer, no MSN Messenger and the like.
And the same thing with weight loss, I stopped stocking up on unhealthy foods and instead stocked up healthy ones. So whenever I feel like snacking, I have no choice but to snack healthy.
Environment manipulation is a powerful change agent.
P.S. Coincidentally, I am considering moving to another country too. I feel like I’m in a rut and I need to shake up my environment to shake up my brainwaves.
Hey Andy,
Congrats on making those changes!
I do the same thing with food! I basically eat anything that’s available, so if I buy unhealthy food, I eat an unhealthy diet. I have very little restraint, in that regard. That’s why I make sure that I buy only healthy stuff. Easiest way to have a good diet, IMO. :)
Shane,
I do understand your point not to wish but to act to have changes really happen in your life. Human being is a lazy creature by its nature, in my opinion, so it has to be something dramatic to happen to force 99% of people to do serious change in heir life, habits and behavior.
I already did 2 times what you are doing now. First time I moved from Russia to Jerusalem and lived there with my family of 4 for 7 years. That have been a hard but exciting time… I was working 14-15 hours a day 6 days a week no vacation for 5 straight years – it was very very hard to start new life in foreign country, especially if you have family to care about. I learned to speak and think fluently in Hebrew. Then, I with my family moved to Toronto and we live here for 12 years now. I leaned English and a little bit of a few other languages such as Romanian (che my fach?:), Japanese, Chinese and Korean…
Happy Holidays and Good Luck to you in new country Shane!
Alexander Umanets
Hi Alexander,
Wow, those are some bold moves you made! It was tough enough moving countries all on my own. I can only imagine what it takes for a whole family to do the same!
I wish you and yours all the best for the coming year!
Thanks Shane! Same to you man!
Hi Shane,
I agree, I deleted cod just a month ago. This means that we are neighbours now, I am a hungarian link building expert. If you are in Hungary, I would be pleased to talk to you in person :)
Hi Gabor,
Thanks for your comment!
Cool stuff. I don’t know if I’ll be visiting Hungary, but I’ll let you know. :)
Hey Shane – I’m happy for you that you are changing up your life. I did what you did with video games with solitaire on my computer, I deleted it because I was addicted to it. I need to come up with a way to shake up my life in 2012, I can’t move because like a lot of other people in Las Vegas, I can’t sell my house because I owe a lot more than it is worth. I’ll think of something else. One thing I have done is unsubscribed from a lot of guru’s email lists. You are one of the few marketers that I still subscribe to. I am taking less input and trying to do more output. I wish you luck in your new surroundings.
Cheers
Sam Sinopoli
Hi Sam,
Thanks for your comment! Unsubscribing to keep your inbox clean(er) is a great first step. I’m sure you can figure out a few more ways to keep a clear head and focus on your goals in 2012. All the best to you and yours!
I agree with the video game stuff. The depressing thing is that with Call of Duty, it actually tracks how many hours you’ve played. As of last night, I’ve played 30 hours since November. Gives a clear explanation of why I’m not finishing more projects quicker.
That’s actually a pretty good thing! With it tracking your time, you at least can’t go into denial about how much time you spend with gaming.
Best of luck to you and yours and happy holidays!
Hi Shane,
there is one important thing that you left out regarding your move to Romania from Switzerland; what about any family and/or friends that you left behind? In my case, for example, I often think I would like to move to another country (probably Thailand -just like Bruce- because I was there and I loved it and the weather is warm all year round), but I do have elderly parents here that I could not leave behind. I also have other family and friends. What about you? You said nothing about having to leave any family or friends when you moved. Or were you completely alone where you lived in Switzerland? Finally, I want to wish you all the best for the Holidays and the New Year,
Robert
Hi Robert,
Yes, I did leave family and friends behind. However, I don’t intend to stay here in Romania for very long. Maybe 6 months to one year before I move back/move on.
The idea is to come here, give my business and my life a kick-start and then move on.
Congrats on the move! I’m sure the shake up will create many more good things.
My path has been London, New York, L.A., Austin so far, with moves inside each of those locations. I feel another coming on :)
And I totally agree with the environment change. If there are no video games to play or bad food to eat (or whatever your “addiction” is) – you don’t have to keep remembering to stick to the plan hour by hour.
Here’s to all of us making a bigger dent in 2012!
Steve
Thanks for your comment, Steve!
Here’s to making big dents indeed! :)
Shane,
Just read an excellent post regarding winners and losers and how to succeed Online from a successful IM-er Chris Munch. Read it here:
http://munchweb.com/50000-in-3-months
Thanks! I’ll give it a read. :)
That’s really a brave move to have made Shane and to a completely different country where you don’t even speak the language!
Thanks for that advice, it has really inspired me to do something different in the New Year and to make physical changes, to try and force more productivity out of myself.
I definitely fall foul of easily getting stuck in a rut in general, I fear it’s a bit of a character trait, and I tend to have a fear of making changes.
I really have to do something about it, as I feel more and more confined to a routine and that it is stifling my ability to move forward and achieve higher things in business.
Waiting to perfect the ‘best’ SEO/SEM process, by subscribing to every ‘gurus’ new shiny course or tool/webinar is one that I seem to be presently ‘stuck’ on!
Maybe I need to talk to a Psychiatrist !
John
Hi John,
Thanks for your comment!
Here’s the thing about SEO: everything is always changing. Well, not everything, but most things. Things are changing fast and I’d recommend that you decide to become the guy who comes up with the new perfect SEO method. No need to wait for anyone else to do it first.
I wish you all the best for 2012!
Hello Shane,
Tom said he mentioned you to his wife. Vicky, who is not into what we do, but has come to understand my aberration pretty amazingly also keeps up with you. So, Tom has company. Ha! You’re also a fav with the wives.
Once upon a time I had a fascination with Brazil. A fuzzy vid from the dawn of computer vids…. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YC9nl04ze7s and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mj0aIOBNVuM&feature=related… I re-edited this years ago from what we shot there. It’s from a DVD burnt from our commercial tape. That was during my International Norm period. Pretty strange times for a boy who hadn’t been out of the county much less the country. That’s my script that Jon is voicing on there. I got bit by the Brazilian travel bug HARD.
Well, I got over Brazil, a long time later, (mais o menos -more or less). It’s just nostalgia now…. I give you this to say I understand where you are. I just hope you find what you are looking for there.
Vicky just said that if I had been prosperous we could be on a Christmas boat ride or skiing in Colorado. Ha. Oh well. Everybody can’t be in Romania for Christmas. And besides, neither one of us can ski, but we can float.
You need to make your next stop here in Cowchip/AL Shane. You can hire Alabama experts for probably less than what you are paying in Romania, and you are only 4200 miles from Brazil!
Merry Romanian Christmas Shane! You THE man!
Your man in Alabama – Norm
Hey Norm,
You’re really selling Cowchip, man! How can I resist? :D
Brazil… definitely on my list. I’d love to see a carneval in Rio, sometime. I’ll ask you for pointers before I go. :)
Thanks and happy holidays to you and Vicky!
Thanks for all the great information. Boy, you never get this kind of help from any guru. Great to hear that you are human just like the rest of us.
It sure is nice to know that I’m not alone with my game addiction or food
eating problems. It helps to know that others can overcome them, so I should try a little harder. Great mind set for the new year. Happy holiday to you Shane and thanks for all the help that you provide.
Hello Carolyn,
Thank you for your comment! I think the human factor is very important. The moment you realize that people you look up to and/or people who are successful in areas where you are seeking success are just people, much like yourself, is very empowering. At least for me, this is very important. There are still people I look up to, of course, but I always remind myself that the only real difference between where they are and where I am is that they’ve taken different (and probably more) steps than me.
Hi Shane.
Good luck with your new life in Timisoara.
I looked up some facts on Timisoara, and it was interesting to see the weather extremes.
Record high of 41.0C
Record low of -35.3C
That’s pretty extreme.
Cheers
Peter
Hi Peter,
Hey, gotta love a place with four proper seasons, right? :D
Have an awesome Christmas and new year!
I am completely in awe of you, Shane. Your strength of mind and your willingness to act on the things that you feel will positively enhance your business and your life are incredible. I can only hope to be the same in my life and with my new business going forward. I know I have a long way to go and a lot of work ahead of me, but I’m positive I have that same strength inside of me.
Also, I just want to say that I’m on a few lists these days so I hear from other marketers as well, but none of them are as personal or inspire me quite like you. I look forward to following your journey, and the path that you provide us, for as long as you’re in business and willing to share those things with us.
Good luck in Romania. I hope things turn out the way you hoped they would. Merry Christmas to you, brother!
Daniel
Hi Daniel,
Thank you very much for this comment! I’m very happy that I can be inspiring to you and I will continue doing my best to share my journey and provide useful content. I have no doubt that you can make some awesome things happen with your business (and your life, for that matter), since you already realize that it requires a lot of work.
Do today, what others are not willing to do so that you can accomplish tomorrow, what others can’t.
Merry Christmas Shane!
Really good content in your video today (as always). You’ve motivated me more than you know.
Does this mean that you and Sam Haenni are no longer collaborating? You made such a good team with the products you have so far. There seem to be a lot of Niche finder tools coming up for sale and I was hoping the “Swiss Team” par excel-lance was going to tackle that next!
Anyway, I appreciate all you do and will continue to look forward to your emails.
Here’s to 2012!!
Allen
Thank you, Allen!
Not to worry, I’m still working together with Sam as closely as ever! Although we were both living in Switzerland up until recently, we actually rarely ever met, face-to-face. I think we saw each other more often outside of Switzerland, at conferences and seminars, than in Switzerland. At any rate, our communication has always been mostly by email and skype, so my moving away shouldn’t change much about how we work together. There’s a lot of exciting new stuff coming up under the SwissMadeMarketing brand, next year!
All the best for 2012!
Merry Christmas, Shane!
Congratulations on undertaking a life-changing move! I have always been inspired and motivated by what you share in your Sunday updates. I am one of your avid subscribers.
It’s funny I’ve always wanted to visit (and live) in Switzerland and here you are leaving it for the land of vampires. :))
Please say hi to Count Dracula for me whenever you get to meet him. LOL!!
I wish you and everyone all the very best in 2012!!
There’s nothing wrong with Switzerland, don’t worry. :) Well, except maybe that it’s probably the most expensive country in the world, to live in. I do intend to go back to Switzerland in the near future, though. But before that, I have some business-building to do and some new experiences to gain. :)
All the best to you and yours for 2012!
I am sure you will find a fantastic field for expanding your knowledge and many very interesting things – select where to search and you will find magic things there. I have been there.
I think you selected well and
Thanks, Alex! Here’s to an awesome 2012!
Merry Christmas, Shane & thank you as always for your insightful message. I must have known something about that strategy instinctively because my path took me from Madison WI (my hometown) to Vienna, Paris, New York City, Paris again, Hong Kong, London and then back to Madison over a period of 22 years. Hong Kong was my boldest move – the main reason I moved there was because I felt at the time that I was completely ignorant about Asia. I enjoyed each place and experienced very different things by completely changing my surroundings. This coming year my big challenge will be figuring out how to balance work with life. After my next big rollout I will need to book a vacation (it will be my 2nd in 8 years) and just go…no matter what. Like you said, making a physical change that will force an outcome, hopefully one that is positive and good. All the best in your Romania endeavor. I’m looking forward to hearing where you wind up a year from today! :D
Thank you, Jolenta! Wow, you’ve really traveled the world! I’m envious of you now. :D
That work-life-balance thing is also something I still need to work on, by the way. I’m sure we’ll figure it out soon enough. :)
Hi Shane,
I lived in Thailand for 7+ years… fantastic. One can live pretty much anywhere in the world nowadays, as long as it has high speed Internet.
And organic food, good environment, great nature, no wars etc :)
Just wanted to ask… what sort of membership program/product would you generally recommend? I have a Clickbank product and I want to put it into a “log in” m’bship with different levels etc instead of just presenting a download page for buyers.
Thanks :)
Martin
ps. see you in Romania
Thanks for your comment, Martin!
It’s true, anywhere with high-speed internet can be home. It’s quite amazing, really. Never before have we been able to move around so freely on the globe, without losing connections to everyone.
My personal favourite solution for membership sites is Digital Access Pass.
Thanks Shane – you’ve inspired me to share my own story of change. I left Australia to move to Dubai 2 months ago and am now ready to set up an office here and crank up my businessto a much bigger level than what I felt was possible on my own at home. Opportunity is everywhere, we just have to be aware enough to see past our stories as to why we can or cannot do anything in life. Wishing you every success in 2012.
x
Wow, excellent stuff, Jodie! I hope you enjoy Dubai and I wish you all the best with your business!
Shane congratulations on the positive changes that you have made in your life. This will inspire me to do the same thing. I hope that you read this response because I have question. I have been sending emails to your help desk support and cannot get a reply. I am interested in your new SEO service that you were going to offer where you can get backlinks to all of the top blog networks. You sent out an email a number of weeks ago and have not heard anything about it since. You said that you were going to use some test customers with the service. You also said that the service would cost less than if you signed up for all of the blog networks combined. As I said, I submitted a support ticket (3 or 4 support tickets) on this and have yet to get a reply. Let me know if you still plan on offering this service.
Thanks for your comment, Robert!
We will be opening up the SEO service to the public early next year. I will send an email update, when this happens. Sorry about the helpdesk issue. I don’t know if your messages were filtered as spam, or maybe our responses were.. we do our best to answer every ticket we receive.
Robert, I have asked Shane the very same question two days ago. I had also a feeling I missed something already. However Shane replied and explained that there has been held a small “beta” launch of this article submission service and it went okay. He plans to reopen it in January. The users of SECockpit will be first informed, then the rest of the public.
I was excited for two reasons when I was watching your Sunday video, Shane. I admire people who are able to radically change their lifes. My own personal blog zmensvojzivot.sk (change your life, in Slovak) is promoting this idea. I believe that without a courage and opened mind we cannot change our lifes and society.
The second reason is the fact I live in eastern part of Slovakia, what´s quite near to Timisoara, or as we call this city Temesvar. In past we were in the same state – Austrian-Hungarian Empire.
You did an excellent decision. Eastern Europe has very educated and skilled people and the wages are several times lower compared to Western countries.
Good luck and Merry Christmas!
Yea indeed you really proved yourself you’re motivated with that move shane congrats you’re brave, I personally been wasting most my life in front of video games, I’m starting to feel anxious nearly everytime I pop a game up .. but the counterpart is that I know I’m so “somewhere else” with these distractions that when I’m not doing it I’m mostly thinking about what website I could build or what product I could make to become successfull or informing myself about internet marketing business(I’m quite new..) But honestly after all this time learning IM related stuff, I can now start to “feel it”, I have good hopes for my future :).
Best wishes and merry christmas to everyone !
Hi Itachi,
Wow, lot’s of fellow gamers (and ex-gamers) in this discussion! :)
If you can do something that will force you to work on your online business ideas, even if it’s just for an hour or so a day, I’m sure you’ll see great progress, next year. I wish you all the best!
Hey Shane, hope you’re having a great holiday in your new home. I have used the technique you outlined to eliminate my video game addiction as well. Mine was of the MMO variety, WOW to be specific. You might find this article about gaming addiction interesting: http://www.thelocal.se/22110/20090916/
The same approach works with food – if it’s not in the house and handy, I can’t eat it. Just don’t go shopping when you’re hungry!
I also find that in giving up something like video games, it helps to substitute a benefit (motorcycle?) of my future work instead of just focusing on what work I could be getting done. I may never buy a motorcycle, but I’ll have more enthusiasm for work in any case.
Thanks for your comment, Mark!
A long, long time ago, I also picked up a copy of WOW, because everyone was raving about it. Luckily, I didn’t find it appealing at all and wasn’t “infected” by it. That game has probably destroyed more lives than any other videogame in history.
Congrats on kicking the habit!
I agree that if you work towards some grand reward, it can really help keep you motivated. Instead of just thinking of “I will have more money”, “I will be able to afford a motorcycle” is a much more tangible goal to hold on to.
Very cool! You shared pure gold in this update. I experienced the power of this technique somewhat accidentally about 3 years ago when we moved states and it caused me to launch my IM career. I’m a bit more conscious of it now so I’m trying to do more of it intentionally going forward.
Merry Christmas and I wish you the very best in 2012.
Thanks, Nisheth!
I wish you continued success, moving forward!
Nice Shane!
Good Stuff! I really believe that. I have tried to make the physical changes around me to help transform other areas of my life.
I remmember sitting around one day and looked at my offic and it was a flippin’ mess. I couldn’t find anything and I got really frustrated.
I said to myself “Your life is a mess Ryan!” This stuff around you is just a reflection of your inner self and you need to make some changes.
Cleaning up the inside makes for a nice office!
Good Things!
Ryan K
Thanks for your comment, Ryan.
I have a bit of a problem with being messy as well. I have noticed that the more focused I am – the clearer my plans are – the less messy my office and living space are. There’s definitely something to the saying that your surroundings reflect what’s inside.
I really enjoyed your video today and congratulations on your decision to give up the video game addiction when you did as it might have contributed to the progress of your business! As many others on this page I’m impressed with your pick-up and move gumption… similar stories about big territorial moves by others in the above comments were also inspiring. I moved from Brussels Belgium to the US over fifty years ago and since then have moved only within the State of Washington.
My best wishes to you and your business for 2012!
Fran
Thanks, Fran!
I’m also surprised at how many people here report of moving all over the world. It’s awesome to see other people’s perspectives like this.
I wish you all the best for 2012!
My daughter is moving to Melbourne, Australia at the first week in February. While it’s going to be really difficult for me to have her so far away, I’m in awe at her (and your) courage to make such a huge move.
My hat’s off to both of you and your intrepid spirits.
Olivia
Hi Olivia,
Moving away from family or having a family member move away is always difficult. On the bright side, I’m sure it will be a great experience for your daughter and thanks to things like email and skype, we’re never really disconnected from those we care about, no matter how far away they move.
All the best to you and yours in 2012!
Hi Shane, give my regards to Dracula.
And welcome to the neighborhood.
Next year I am moving from South Africa to Split in Croatia.
This would be my sixth move and hopefully last.
I was born in the neighboring country Moldova, when my parents
moved there after the World War 2.
Sh…t, that’s make me feel very old.
My mind can’t digest this numbers.
I feel like I am somewhere in my thirties.
My mind playing tricks with me.
Anyhow, I moved six time in my life and it feels like world
just to small for me.
I wish you peace and comfort in your new place.
Happy New Year!
Hi Anatoli,
Thanks for your comment! Did you move to a different country every time? If so, that’s pretty amazing!
Also: you’re as old as you feel you are. Don’t worry about it. :D
All the best!
That would be three country for now and Croatia would be the fourth.
Besides that I was on the Navy and been all over the world.
If you check my name than you can read my story (just part of it on my Hub).
I had a very big life and have lots to tell.
Here is my advise to quit games or any bad habits.
Life is to short, but we learn about it when it’s to late.
Great move Shane
Sounds exciting.
I moved from Holland (“home”) to Scotland, then Ireland, and now Czech Republic, during 1995 – now. I’d like to go home again but IM cost me more than it gained so I’m gonna have to focus like crazy to make it happen financially. I’ll need to think about some drastic change to help my situation too so thanks for the inspiration!
Well done, Shane!
Another insightful video, as always.
Wishing you the best in your new home!
Here’s one thing I’m changing in my physical environment: unsubscribing from a lot of IM emails.
Have a fantastic 2012!
Hey Shane, sorry for the late Christmas wishes and comment.
I was really hoping you moved because you met a really hot Romanian girl.
Maybe you did???
Good luck in 2012
Cheers, Michael.
Hi Michael,
Haha, no hot Romanian girls, no. Not yet, anyway. :)
Hi Shane –
Totally HARDCORE! I couldn’t agree more, resolutions very rarely get done. Geographic relocation leaves NO room for temptation. I did the exact same thing a few years ago, although I should probably have picked somewhere a bit cheaper than Copenhagen! (I don’t know if Denmark is as expensive as Switzerland, but if not, it’s surely not far behind).
Best of “luck” with the move and may life present you with everything you wish for.
All the best,
Chris
Hi Chris,
Thanks, man!
Yeah, I guess Denmark isn’t the cheapest spot in the world, either. :) Hope you’re enjoying your time there, nonetheless.
All the best for 2012!
La mulţi ani, mo chara! ;o)
Hi Shane,
Over the summer I moved from Eugene Or, to Houston TX without knowing anyone. I took a road trip with a buddy and saw all the sites like Grand Canyon and Vegas so it was a very positive thing for me regarding growth. Your example of having no video games reminds me of food. I don’t have any junk food in my place so it forces me to eat the other foods. Wish u the best.
Kevin
Wow, nice! Sounds like an awesome road trip. I’m hoping to be able to road trip through Europe sometime this year.
