  • If your camera has a “white balance” function on it, you can get rid of any blue or green tint created by your lighting. Just aim the camera at a white piece of paper, set your focus and hit the white balance button.

    I’m loving the Viral Quiz Builder. I didn’t want to outsource the creation of my first quiz because it was just too much fun.

  • Hi Shane.

    The new light is quite bright and makes your face look quite shiny. As you probably know, that’s the main reason they apply make-up on the face if you are on TV or film. Not sure if you want to go to that extreme :-)

    In regards to Hybrid Connect, I jumped on the pre-launch offer pretty quickly. I’ve checked out and used a number of list building products, but I’ve never found one I was entirely happy with.

    I’m really looking forward to implementing Hybrid Connect and revamping my whole list building efforts.

    I’m assuming there will be an affiliate program once it has been officially launched.

    • I should have checked the Swiss Made Marketing affiliate site to answer my question about the affiliate program for Hybrid Connect.

      Regarding the pricing, the current affiliate program has the pre-launch prices listed. Presumably this will be updated for the full price when it is officially launched?

    I just purchased Hybrid Connect yesterday.
    Haven’t had the chance to play with it much yet, but from what I did see it looks amazing.

    I have a few suggestions for you though:

    1) connect with google feature – same feature as Optin Pressor (optionpressor.com) has, only you can make it much more powerful:

    You should make “connect with facebook” your first option, then if Hybrid Connect sees that the person is not logged in to facebook, make hybrid connect see if he is logged in to his google account. If he is, show a “connect with google” sign. And only then, if the person isn’t logged in to his google account as well, make hybrid connect show a regular optin form.

    2) Popup optin feature – not sure if Hybrid Connect has it or not, but from what I’ve seen it doesn’t.

    Do that and Hybrid Connect will literally crush every competitor out there on the market.

      • And since I’e seen in the comments that a few people got me a little bit wrong, I’ll just clarify that the “connect with google” feature I’m talking doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to have a Google+ account. You can even just be logged in to your Gmail account or to any of Google’s services and that would be enough for Hybrid Connect to figure that out and show the “connect with google” optin form.

        I second what Yoav said!
        The Google Connect feature would make it much more powerful.
        And on top of the Pop up/Pop over feature, I would add an ‘exit pop’ option as well for those who want to capture ‘exit’ traffic.

Your last plugin viral quiz plugin is also great. i just install it within 10 minutes and write an article and place quiz within article. great thing. enhance the conversion if use it creatively.     i also have some suggestions for your plugin.

    1. add Google Plus feature on this plugin.
    2. add search keyword function. for example is someone come to my site from google search engine with the keyword how to overcome procrastination than he will be presented with the popup window which asking to take free ebook on procrastination in exchange of email address. and on that same site if someone come with the keyword through the search engine how to be productive in office than he is presented with the free ebook for being productive in office in exchange of email address. i have seen an wso about this plugin. A great feature which helps you and us both.

    • This is quite an interesting idea – if you could define a “hotlist” of keywords and then specify which connectors to display on those occasions. Shane and I were discussing something very similar to this earlier today so it’s quite a coincidence that you mention it here.

    Jumped in for Hybrid Connect but agree with Yoav about adding Google+.

    Also, split testing would be another awesome addition i.e. split test between optin boxes to see which converts better.

    OptinSkin (http://optinskin.com/) has this split testing feature but does not have Facebook Connect nor Google+.

    • Yes, from what I understand, the Optin Skin split test isn’t a true split test in that conversions are measured on separate pages. The split testing feature is something that’s very much on our radar!

  • I purchased Viral Quiz builder and confess that I have not put it to good use yet…soon to change. I also just picked up Hybrid Connect and am looking forward to setting it up on my site and using it for/with clients.

    I agree with Yoav that it would be good if you included a Google+ connect feature.

    ALSO, is there any way to include an option for people to optin to a mobile marketing (SMS) campaign, too? Maybe, a P.S. type message. That would be heaven for me.

    Love Hybrid Connect but I am having a small issue which is not covered in the FAQ. Installation went smoothly into WP. Registration and affiliate signup completed as well however when I click on Setup there is no information. Nothing but a white blank screen.

      • Hi Clara,

        There are quite a few key differences between what Hybrid Connect does and will be built upon to do even better in the future and what Optinpressor does.

        The most important difference is that Optinpressor doesn’t have an understanding of whether a user is logged into Facebook or Google – because of this, the Optinpressor plugin makes the user decide with a toggle button between “Facebook”, “Google” and “Email”. So, in some instances, even if the user isn’t logged into Facebook – the Facebook connect button is still shown as default. Every time you give the user a choice or make the user add another click to the conversion process – the conversion rate lowers. With Hybrid Connect, users will only ever see the Facebook button if they are ALREADY logged into Facebook. If not, they are shown the standard capture form of name and email address. Thus making the signup process as streamlined as possible.

        With Optinpressor I believe you can choose between a set of graphics for the headline and call to action buttons – but you have a finite set. The advantage of this is that you can use some professionally designed graphics, the disadvantage is that the other 1,000 customers (number plucked out of thin air as an example) have access to the same set of buttons. Your site lose its uniqueness and you’re very limited when trying to find graphics that match the colour scheme of your blog. With Hybrid Connect we have create a template builder, the colours, the fonts, button shades, margin settings, width, height, arrows, bullets and side graphics are all fully customiseable already (please note that we have many more features to be added to this template builder over the coming weeks). The advantage of this is that even with no technical knowledge whatsoever, you can very easily create visually appealing and UNIQUE optin boxes that match the brand of your site in minutes.

        Optinpressor has a few features that we haven’t yet implemented. One of them is that they integrate with Google + which is something we are considering in the future, too, as long as we can develop a streamlined process as mentioned above. It also allows you to create lightbox popups with some basic settings. We are currently in the process of adding a lightbox feature to the Hybrid plugin that’s based on our template builder, so, yet again – you’ll be able to fully design that from scratch within a few minutes.

        Those are the main differences. I’m sorry if it sounds like a slightly biased comparison but we wouldn’t have spent the time and money we have if we didn’t believe that there was a gap in the market and that we could genuinely create a better product.

        The main thing to note about Hybrid is that currently it’s in pre-launch. This means that we are taking suggestions and developing it further over the coming weeks and months. We are already working on some very big changes and updates that all customers will receive for free for life and we are taking a long term approach to this product.

  • Added feature is to have testimony – or coupon (text) johnson boxes to the sides in a different color (selectable would be preferred) such as yellow with black border – straigtt, dotted, squiggly etc. ditto photos. ditto videos

      Can you give me an example online as to what you mean by “coupon (text) johnson boxes”? – It’s probable that I’ve seen them, I just am not familiar with the terminology and would appreciate a live example to help understand your feature request.

      • Oh you mentioned a “lightbox” feature in your reply to me. What is this lightbox?

        A lightbox is a basically a popup that you can use to grab email addresses. If you’ve ever been on a blog where you’re browsing a post and then suddenly a name and email capture box appears – that’s the sort of lightbox that I’m referring to in my post. We actually have a semi-functional version of this in beta, we’re aiming to have a new version of Hybrid with an initial version of the lightbox feature included to customers by the weekend.

  • Yes here you go. In short side bars – be able to call the size and nuber of. . Another would be to add a big pix in the background. You must have seen that already with social links to.
