  • Can’t disagree with you there Shane.

A purchase should result in a product.

    Lazy and greedy…yep.

    Wayne.

P.S. I was not a buyer of the Adsense product but I watched the recording and am interested in updates on progress. Thanks!

  • Wayne Cochrane says:

    Damn.

Submitting that comment reloaded the page and the video has started again from the beginning when I had almost finished watching/listening to it.

Have to remember that for the future :-)

    • Yeah, page reloads when you submit a comment. There’s probably some ninja stuff one could set up to allow commenting without page refreshes, but I’m not capable of anything like that.

Have been thinking of implementing DisQus, maybe. That might allow commenting while the video keeps running, actually.

  • Got my first Adsense site up on Thursday. Still writing content and getting ready to start the backlinking process. I have to admit working the blueprint is fun.

Also, it has forced me to finally tackle what I’ve been avoiding for a long time…learning good keyword research. It has always been like learning math…I had a difficult time understanding it, was never any good at it, so I just worked around it (which probably accounts for my less-than-stellar success). I still feel a little shaky, but with the help of your keyword research guide, and the blueprint manual, it’s beginning to make more sense.

Anyway, looking forward to receiving your Adsense project emails and visiting the blog to see how others are coming along.

    Olivia

    • Yeah, keyword research can be a bit of a drag. When you’re having a dry spell and aren’t finding anything juicy it can be demotivating. But it gets better with practice, as anything does.

    • I suffer exactly the same hang-up. I just can’t seem to get going with keyword research decently – and as step 1 in *any* IM process, its a big stumbing block. It has become a great cause of procrastination here.

I can usually follow a process and see what happens, but for the life of me I don’t seem to have the spark that gets any reasonable phrases to pop out.

Its probably not helped by the fact that every system has some subtle differences in the way that the stats are analysed to determine “successful”.

I’m OK with Maths. Its the English letting me down.

Still, I hope to get a site going shortly…

      • Hey Mike,

Where do you get stuck in the keyword research process?
Also, have you seen my free keyword research guide?

Whatever the issue, I’m sure it’s something you can overcome pretty easily. Plenty of keywords out there. :)

      • Hi Shane,

I usually end up trying to follow *some-scheme*’s method, and can go through the basic steps OK.

But, of course, those easy basic steps don’t usually lead to keywords that fit the scheme’s criteria – there needs to be something else, some extra steps. I guess its either some plodding on-and-on through whole slews of unproductive data, or its a creative leap into a different subset. Or more likely both, applied recursively.

Whatever steps are needed are things that I haven’t managed to “get” yet, so instead, I seem to get myself frustrated. Its gradually become a blocker that makes me not want to sit in front of the keyboard.

I guess I just need patience and a tab open on a thesaurus…

Yes, I’ve seen your keyword guide, found it useful, and agreed with the principles that were in it. In fact, I’m going to go through a refresh of it shortly, and then try to pick up on the research aspects within the Adsence blueprint.

BTW – can’t reply to your comment (no ‘reply’ link) so replying to myself…

  • Inclined to agree with you on the lazy way many people launch products with nothing to back them up, the arguement goes that they create the content based on the wishes and feedback of their customers

While that will work for ethical marketers who actually do that there are as we know too many who are rather less than ethical in what they do

I think also the very poor value of some of the $497-$1997 products was brought home earlier in the week, one such marketer was asking for comments on his blog around high cost product launches

I told him that generally I didn’t read his e mails because he seemed to think his subscribers had bottomless credit cards and that the attempt to guilt trip people into believing they are missing out when often the product is rather ordinary but overpriced worked against him as well

I then read two days later when he said about the post being controversial so I guess being the first to comment I had set the theme for it

As always thanks for sharing Tony

    • Yeah, maybe you set the tone for the whole discussion. :)
I guess many people hesitate to confront anyone about their marketing style (if you can call it that).

And, surprisingly, no matter how shoddy a product is and how bad the support etc. there always seem to be a few loyal fans who will still defend the product and the marketer behind it. Especially for the very high priced products.

  • Hello Shane,
My first Adsense site (using the Adsense course, of course) is live with about a dozen arkles and being worked via the Backlink Battleplan method.

And, probably to my discredit, I couldn’t leave well enough alone so I have just finished creating the framework for my second with a new look. It’s actually more work for me to do a barebones site for the simple reason that I eternally love to complicate things.

But, this time around I modeled the template on Wiki. What could be more simple than that? And after an hour and a half I figgered out how to put that little Adsense ad inside and at the bottom of the header like on the default template that came with the course. Whoopee. It’s pretty much like the original, only with an even more simple look. We shall see.

As you can tell from my posts, I’m the grand master of writing copious content on specific topics that leaves you without a clue, so naturally, you’d need to turn to the hateful Google Adsense ads for more instruction.

Today I’ll be adding content. For the second site, it’s a competitive market, but I think I have found wiggle room between the big keywords. Again, we shall see.

Actually, what I really need is a shocking way to make tons of money immediately with no skill and only the push of a button, at only $37, which goes down to $27 after you try the fifth exit (with a money back guarantee) for the entire plan. Perhaps you could offer that next?
    Norm

    • Wow, you’re way ahead of me there, Norm. Haven’t started promoting my site yet…

I can totally relate to your drive to fiddle with settings and themes, when you have a particular outcome in mind. :) And emulating a wiki-style could be a smart move, in terms of CTR.

“Actually, what I really need is a shocking way to make tons of money immediately with no skill and only the push of a button, at only $37, which goes down to $27 after you try the fifth exit (with a money back guarantee) for the entire plan. Perhaps you could offer that next?”

      :D
I’ll see what I can do.

  • Re Adsense100k

Shane – I wonder if it would be a help for some members if you (or the asdense guys) could put a little video to show how to go for the main 5 keywords for their chosen niche? Seems a few people struggled with that.

Although I have many adsense sites up from years back I still went ahead and made two more sites to see how the process works. I’ll show them in the forum soon.

For any Adsense100k members I added a thread in the Content, Content section of the forum about a super young lady that does all my articles for me.

I saw that there was a bit of an issue about where/how to get articles so I thought it was worth mentioning. I’m not an affiliate…..I doubt she has any. (;-)

Hopefully there is not a problem with me mentioning it here?

    Peter

    • Good suggestion re keyword groups.
I’ll make a video to illustrate my personal approach. Although my personal approach involves SECockpit, but I guess the same can be done manually, just with more leg-work.

Helpful mentions of any kind are always welcome, by the way.

      • Ahhh. How do you mesh SECockpit’s idea of what a good keyword is against the Adsense Blueprint’s? I’ll be watching for that video…

  • Hi Shane,
Yes I got caught by the EVP2 website and even had to complain AFTER paying the first month that the videos were not working.

Unfortunately the Adsense guys are in a similar boat. When I asked about a “how to find the keywords” video I was told that more videos wwere being aded over time and this was certainly one of them.

The Adsense guys do have a couple of things in their favor however. They DID have some videos for basic info in place and they DIDN’T charge $500.00 for their product.

We took the challenge but had some sort of infiltration into the computer and had to take it to the computer doctor for a rebuild so that slowed us down a bit here. However we should be up in the next couple of days.

    Cheers,

    Gordon J

    • Oh, technical issues! While I’m sorry to hear about it, I’m almost relieved to know that I’m not the only one struggling with roadblocks of that sort. :-/

I hope Adam and Mike keep up the quality they’ve delivered so far.

As you probably know, I also like to release products that are about 90% rather than 100% finished. Shaping the product based on customer feedback is beneficial for everyone, but that doesn’t mean that releasing a product that’s 0% or 10% finished is justifiable…

    • Thanks for taking us to task on the keyword research video Gordon!

We’re currently near-completion on a half-dozen new videos which will be up this coming week. At launch we wanted to insure we covered all the basic “how-to” instructions; now we are working to extend the library based on requests.

In addition, there are nearly 1000 posts on the new forum already, and we have managed to meet our goal of seeing that any questions are answered within 24 hours, with most answered the same day.

We are also in the process of completing a FAQ based on questions that are asked more than once, and preparing a huge amount of ‘bonus’ material to be uploaded including quality PLR content.

Our vision is for the product to continually ‘improve’ as more ideas (and stumbling blocks) are discussed and suggested. And I have to say some of the most interesting and fruitful forum conversations are coming from here – the people who joined through the webinar. Thanks for the input!

      Michael

  • Hey Shane

one of the same guy’s behind the Dominating Video fiasco is also a partner of the latest in WordPress wonder theme/plug-in launches – Authority Pro!

Now I’ve gotta say I was ready to buy (and still will, probably) even though at $197 for a multi-use licence was a little steep.

However there was a couple of queries I needed clarifying so I sent a ticket through their support desk – over two weeks later I’m still waiting for an answer even after submitting additional requests for them to answer my queries – I guess it’s easier to get a $497 sale than answer an $197 query?
    I
During this period of waiting for a response – I stopped counting at 15 attempts to sell me the video programme, now I know that most, if not all messages will be pre-loaded autoresponder messages but none the less, when are these guys going to realise that they are dealing with human beings and not just numbers on a list!

Just my little rant but – if anyone does know if Authority Pro is as good as the sales letter says , and it has support then I’d be interested to know (or of a suitable alternative)

  • @Maurice

I did buy Authority Pro even though the sales letter is incredibly shoddy (there were quite a few complaints about it in WF actually). In terms of functionality it definitely is a really powerful theme though it can be slightly complicated at first. I haven’t really tried the support because I haven’t had major issues yet but I’ll say that in terms of tutorials, I find they are quite behind and are “continually improving and adding content over time” as they so often say.

I’m currently using on one of my affiliate sites and am happy so far with it though I haven’t tried anything fancy to put it through the paces. Hope that helps.

    • I just had a quick look at this Authority Pro thing. Looks like a highly flexible theme, right?
Another one like that, that comes to mind, would be the headway theme.

In general, I wouldn’t recommend highly flexible, “do-it-yourself” themes. The reason being: You can spend hours upon hours fiddling with the layout and it still ends up looking kind of bland (unless you’re a web designer).
I personally prefer just finding suitable themes for each one of my projects. I like Elegant Themes (they have a good collection) and Themeforest is also worth taking a look at (you can get extremely good themes for around 40 bucks).

    • Joshua

thanks for the update – appreciated!

  • Hi Shane,

I took the challenge and I came out with the keyword phase group. Bought the domain and am going to setup this site soon!! The A100k blueprint does a good job as they give more realistic way of doing instead of those “buy this and will earn 100k per month” type of product. But I feel that because of lazy and greed in human, those products are able to sell off fast.

Well, I’m waiting for your updates on the adsense site and I do hope to have healthy and experience sharing session (in blog comment) with all the members who are taking the challenge too.

It’s going to be a lot of work for me to do as I can’t really outsource my articles (Blame the conversion rate!!) it will be too expensive for me. :(

    Jim

    • Hey Jim, sounds like you’re making good progress!
Sooner or later, you’ll be able to invest the money your sites make you, into getting articles written. In terms of your income, the conversion rate should play in your favour, after all.

  • Shane,

That’s extremely kind of you to re-record the webinar. I was looking forward to watching the recording so you can imagine how disappointed I was when I first heard you forgot to record it! Anyways, now I can breath a sigh of relief. :)

I’m about to watch it now. Thanks!!

  • Shane, I have a desk top recording of it, if you’d like it.

I think I recorded most of it if you don’t mind.

    Let me know :)

    • Hi Mark,
You’re actually not the only one. Someone else was already kind enough to send me a desktop recording of the webinar.
      But thanks for your offer!

  • Shane,

Where’s the link to sign up for the A100K list? I can’t find it.

    Thanks,
    Doug

  • Sorry, found it in the email.

    Thanks!

  • I am really enjoying the adsense $100k blueprint course. I have found the forum really (and I mean REALLY) helpful, Mike and Adam have gone way over what I think could be reasonably expected and have provided loads of links and tips there that have been very useful.
I just want to report that I launched a site at the weekend and have earned 65p in adsense revenue today from one click (came from my social bookmarking of the site)- anybody beat that? lol!
    Alison

  • What’s this about EVP2…I also purchased, but didn’t know about a subscription…am I paying someone $37 and didn’t realize it? Wow…I’ll have to research.

High dollar $2500 scam that is defunct after a few months EPIC TRAFFIC SYSTEMS!!!
That would be Keith Baxter, Joey Smith, and Jon

There is no lace to even ask a question and get an answer.
Stay away from these guys…Jon is the creator of Keyword Rockstar and seems to have the most credibility of any of them.

    • Yeah, check for a subscription to “Elite Marketing Foundation”. $37/month, first month free.
When I purchased, it was tied in with the main product.

I heard about the Epic Traffic Disappointment as well. One among many of it’s kind, unfortunately.
