    I believe that investing in customer satisfaction is a principle, as well as a strategy, of fundamental importance. Every good marketing man should remember that. In order to be very appreciated, what you realize and provide to your audience should be intented of great value, whether it's for free or not. And that has been taken over the time!

    I thank you for useful free info - at this point, I'm still uncertain about the SEO of any domain name I consider.
    Reading you review of 'backlink hydra', I was struck by the sentiment expressed- that it might very well be 'beyond' the capabilities or experience of some to make use of-and having seen Kyle's presentation, I'm inclined to agree...I count myself among them.
    But I actually found myself talking to a mate in the gym, and referring to your refreshingly forthright presentation, I realized...
    Not everyone is full of it. Good work.

    I stumbled upon your site yesterday through a tweet from another fellow marketer. This was your post about Alternatives to Google Analytics.

    Let's just say, I've had to pinch myself a few times because I was thoroughly impressed by the content and its amazing value. I appreciate your brutal honesty, professionalism and sincere desire to put your clients/list/customers first. It almost never happens in the IM world and that is why you are an absolute breath of fresh air. I am so grateful I found your site and after going through your Keyword Research guide, I am starting from scratch again because you have finally connected the dots for me. No more guessing and throwing up sites and hoping/praying they will 1) stick and 2) make some money. There is effort required on my part for sure but as long as the blueprint is solid I am up for the challenge. I have not had a chance to look into Link Control yet but based on what I've seen in the KW research guide, I'm stoked at the possibilities.

    I just love the way you boil down the important things about keyword research. Some things are far more important than other things. Most discussions about Key word research I have read include EVERYTHING and the important facts don't stand out. Too much forest and the trees are not visible. I don't need all the fluff.

    A couple of quotes that have always impressed me and they apply directly to you.

    "Most of the fundamental ideas of science are essentially simple, and may, as a rule, be expressed in a language comprehensible to everyone". - ALBERT EINSTEIN

    "Even for the physicist the description in plain language will be the criterion of the degree of understanding that has been reached". - WERNER HEISENBERG

    "If you cannot- in the long run- tell everyone what you have been doing, your doing has been worthless". ERWIN SCHRODINGER

    In all my searches on the net which has been long I have only found one other who has the same ability to boil down to what NEEDS to be known as compared to what CAN be known.Your type is very few and far between.

    I came across your site last week and have been watching your webinars/podcasts on the train to and from work. I've been fumbling around in the internet for years trying to crack the nut of traffic successfully.

    This time round I've actually built my own product, and I built it because I couldn't find anything that did what I wanted, and specifically I felt the market wasn't catering to the need correctly across the board. So I feel I will be able to stay focused for longer now because it's something Im passionate about rather than just trying to make money from.

    I enjoyed the case study yesterday and looking forward to receiving more stuff from you. Still working my way through all the articles.

    Feel free to ask for my input to anything. I know how good it is when your users/customers actually engage.

      This post covers some of the most important basics for starting a business.
      Some of the answers depend on whether you are looking for an income opportunity or already have a business idea in mind and need to learn how to market it. In either case, however, the most important thing you can do is figure out what skills you need and then either focus on them until you master them or work with other people who already have those skills.

      I agree that there's a lot of moaning about how difficult things are and not that much actual 101 advice on how to do things. Paul and I have been talking about this and we plan to create a post and/or webinar to cover the most important basics for everyone.

You are doing the things that every internet marketer wants to do - some do, others take the short cut's, which are not always so wholesome...But when we get back to basics, a personal mailing list shouldn't promote junk.     Shane really means, what he's talking about. This is the real truth. He uses email for communication.
    I recently have had a issue with my Affiliate Account, regarding Hybrid Connect. He has done everything within hours to fix the problem though it was not a problem, issued by himself. This is first class support !

    He starts the new culture for marketing success and communication I think.
    Shane's products are the first choice also from technical prospective.

I was most impressed with your website, the process of conversion was smooth, the videos were absolutely fabulous, clear and succinct. I am so grateful that Hybrid Connect works as well as it does.

    I did run into a compatibility issue with a Shopping cart Plugin, your support system was as expected...smooth and solutions oriented....they were in contact quickly and resolved the issue for us. In a time of much distrust after purchasing a few not so epic plugins, it is so comforting to come across an entrepreneur that cares enough about the whole sale. Customers for the long haul can be so valuable and you so obviously get this.

    I play the game of letting a comment, that's the fair law of bloging.
    I had these questions:
    - How could I insert a code to make "connectors" / forms appear or not in widget (if some people are connected; I don't want connected people see the form so I need a short code possibility or a S2member compability). I sent you that question on the support page.
    - How could I modify text in Privacy Policy Text (space between 2 lines) ?
    I consider you make a great job. Your plugin "Hybrid" is very well done, very serious, the firts I really like (fed up collecting plugins like Pulse notify and so on, which are a 1% part of yours, officially 100% satisfaction guaranteed but 0% refund if not), that's why these questions should interest you.

      I send manually, since I don't send every new post to my list. Depending on how important a new post is, I'll either not send a broadcast, mention it on a Sunday Update or send a separate broadcast for the post.

    Love the videos and I am deep in creative thought over exactly how to us WP-Sharely.

    My Macbook Pro, however, does not like the videos, neither in Safari or Firefox.

    The web-processes zap off the scale and fans can't cope with much more, captain (as Scotty from the Enterprise might have said).

    Is it Wistia? Is Wistia known for this? I recall listening to a Rand Fishkin video a while back that was on Wistia - and no problems then.

    Anyone else reported problems?

    I think buying your products has been quite the marketing education. I was reading somewhere today that not upwelling on your "Thankyou" page was leaving money on the table... Then somehow I end up on the hybrid connect site. Buying it and lo & behold if I'm not sold on the Thankyou page. FYI I was delighted that the upsell was for less than the original ;)

    In any case Im very impressed with both (2nd being wp-sharely for those curious).

    Then this email, and I'm dubious that its another upsell... Glad to say it was another 'by example' lesson in how to process sign ups awesomely. Great communication AND it allayed the sceptical thoughts I was having - well done & thanks...

    There's only one thing...

    From reading these comments Im now very curious about the Keyword Research thing..? Can't seem to find it on a cursory browse. Is it part of the case study? And do I need to sign up for that in order to get it?

      It's awesome that you have this "observer" perspective as you go through my marketing material. This is always something I recommend, as I've also learnt a lot from simply seeing what other people and companies do.

      The keyword research guide is one of my older free products. Unfortunately, it's no longer up to date, after many Google changes and what not. That's why it's no longer available.

      I'm not sure what you mean with your PS question... OP1 = optimizepress? If so, the answer is "no".

    I totally agree 'experiencing' the experts in action and really watching what they actually do is one of the best teachers, and I see that it's true in lots of fields. I know that a fair portion of my clients are coaches and alternative therapists themselves, and come as much to find out 'how I do it' as they do to get the results they're looking for in their own lives - I even suggest it in classes I run!
    Thanks for the info on the keyword research guide - I guess I missed the moment. And yes, I was asking if your blog theme was optimizepress 1 :D

    I can relate to the perfectionist character.
    This is the reason why I have to ask for a refund for hybrid connect at the moment.
    I may be interested in re-purchasing if just one little tiny detail changes.

    The only reason hybrid connect was of interest to me, was because of the facebook login option nicely intregrated with autoresponders (fantastic job on that by the way).
    The one thing I didn't like was the button and the way it looked. I wanted to use another button (which was still in compliance with facebook guidelines), but unfortunately this option is not yet possible.

    It's a small detail, which made my webpage look very ugly in my opinion, so If and when this change is implemented, I will gladly jump back on board :D

    I have a hard time deciding which video provider I should use. I can see you use Wistia, but what about Vimeo and Youtube? What made you stick with your current choice, or do you use more than one provider depending what content you release?

      Concerning the video question, it's answered in a lot of detail in this post and this post.
      The short answer is that Wistia is the best solution I've found that gives me ownership of and control over my videos, while being a lot easier to use than a self-hosted solution.

    Hi Shane, just picked up the Hybrid Connect Plugin. Love how it let's you create every aspect of the opt-in form.

    Quick question... Will there be a way to create a button (graphic) that opens up into a light-box opt-in, or maybe just information? So instead of having an intrusive opt-in form, you can have a button, or text, that opens the lightbox when clicked.

    I've used many opt-in plugins, but this is by far the best. Thanks Shane!

I like the look of your other products (hybrid connect, quiz, webinar) and they are on my shopping list. Maybe a combined purchase of 'focus and connect' + 'Webinar Eclipse' would help to speed things up for me so that I can immerse, create and list build at the same time ??? Any thoughts?

    Most of my content is going to be delivered by video and I plan to use webinars for list building, training, promotion and sales. I bought WebinarJam during the launch and am yet to use it.

    I've learned two things about Hybrid Connect that were
    not mentioned in the videos.

    First, one should copy what they want to say, and how
    they want to say it, from a text file - not from a
    word document - and paste this information into the
    description area on the Enter Your Text tab in Hybrid
    Connect.

    Secondly, any changes one makes to their opt-in form
    in Hybrid Connect, will take up to an hour to see on
    their site.

    While you'll see the changes you made immediately when
    you preview it, I've found that those changes will take
    time to actually appear on your site.

But, to be honest, I was disappointed to find that you did NOT have a lightbox EXIT Popup Feature for this product.     That's a shame. Do YOU have an ETA when this might be available? I really need it SOONER than later. So many of your competitors have this feature yet yours does not. Please advise.

      Unfortunately, it will take a while. The mouse-out trigger will be part of a BIG update that we're working on, along with many other improvements. But it will still be a while before we are finished with that.

    lightbox EXIT Popup Feature would be great for me too !

    In addition to that: I was not able to start a split test to compare lightbox vs slide in. Did I miss something or is it something impossible to do with your software ?

    And just a few more comments, the drag feature for the "setting window" is not very practical and user friendly in my opinion. And there are sometimes bugs that require to refresh the page... I also wanted to align the email input field to the right but it wasn't possible.

    Other than that I am discovering the main features and all the customization and options look really great.

        another issue I ran into : how to split test lightbox appearing after let's say 30s vs 60s, or testing "after x seconds" vs "after scrolling y %" ?
        This would impact the user experience and alter conversion rate, but that feature is also missing yet...

        An interesting "nice to have": your split test statistical model should or could include a "reverse" feature. I mean : If I have already x prints for each variation, it should be possible, based on that, to calculate the actual number of prints needed to reach significance. This way one could anticipate how "long" (or how many total prints) it would take to complete a test at the current/average print rate.

          We are aiming for a release early next year with the new version. Like I said, this is a BIG update. :)

          There will be the option to test different triggers against each other (such as time delay vs. scroll, different scroll points, different time delays etc.).

          As for the second suggestion: that's something we won't do. When you take data and extrapolate, it tends to be wrong more often than it is right. And the earlier on in a test, the wronger the extrapolation will be. So, I'd rather not show any data than show an estimate that's probably misleading.

That Extension has become quite popular and it would be a shame that your great optin boxes don't show up if it is installed.
