Webinar Replay
How I'm Building the ikario Brand
Here's the replay of the webinar and casual chat session we had about my latest project. The webinar was great fun!
Some of the topics discussed include:
- What I build, in which order, when starting a brand new project.
- The experience we had in super-rapid implementation of multiple paid ad funnels, in the span of only a few weeks.
- Why this is a project in which first, everything went wrong - and how I dealt with the difficulties along the way.
- What went most catastrophically wrong... and what went most right during this project so far.
- Why I'm selling focus & action in a new format and why I started a new project at all.
- And much more!

I feel your mood is not as fired up as normal.
But I love this video because it's so authentic.
I'm wondering how I haven't heard anything about Ikario?
Not sure is that maybe because I'm already in Focus & Action.
I'll sign up anyway :)
Thank you for sharing this launch experience. Many points of reflection from which to learn.
I confess I was shocked to hear that Shane was on paid traffic :D
F&A is a great course, full of insight and very useful, has changed to positive many of my habits and ways of being productive. I'm sure live classes and 1-to-1 coaching are a big next step, which I can't afford right now (unfortunately).
The question that comes to mind: will F&A 2019 be updated? For example with implementations in Notion?
What you are teaching is going to become more important than ever. The world of work is being automated, this will lead to massive changes in the world of work. Add COVID 19 and automation is speeding up. COVID 19 is likely to lead to a global recession. Jobs will go and never come back. New jobs will come about. What jobs will arise is not really known. What is required are the skills you teach. Humanity might even change the economic model as it is becoming increasingly obvious the planet cannot sustain the current system.
Many thanks Shane. I have just finished watching the replay. I really admire your honesty and integrity, which benefits us all. I have been working on something similar for the last 18 months, so our world view is not so different. It’s just that I work less and am not as focused as you, but learning all the time. Thanks again for contribution to my own journey. PS. Take a look at Convertkit - they are currently building some very interesting commercial and selling tools into their email delivery service.
Shane, I know your work since the early days of Seocockpit and I've probably watched hundreds of your videos by now, but today I feel like I've known the real Shane, love to hear failure stories and being able to see you as a human being in this wonderful new journey. Thanks for being this honest ;)
My key take aways / lessons
General approach
- customer first approach: Focused on building backwards from what we are going to sell (https://activegrowth.com/podcast-forget-traffic/)
- Values based business (where can you add the most value and get paid for it)
Traffic:
- importance of good data with paid advertising (so you know if it is profitable)
- Audience is lost if you don't have a good beginning (hook) and tight messaging and this is important for all content you produce.
Lead generation
- Give yourself more chances to succeed (applies more broadly)
- test everything, don't assume you know what is best
Web Design
- Minimalism approach to web design works best when you are not a designer (https://thrivethemes.com/course/web-design-crash-course/)
Learning entrepreneurial skills
- You learn much more effectively if you actually implement and learn as you go
