The Audience Building Hamster Wheel & Customer First Business Examples

Last week, as a closure of the ActiveGrowth Podcast launch day, we held a live webinar to answer your questions about the podcast and the topic that we choose for our first three episodes: why you should quit chasing traffic and focus on getting your first customer instead.

Based on all the questions and feedback we got, we decided to record a 4th episode as part of the "Forget Traffic!" series.

We noticed that there's some resistance to the idea of going customer first (even though "get paid sooner!" should be pretty appealing) and we address that in today's episode.

We also walk through several practical examples and case studies on how the customer first approach can work even for the less typical business models.

Forget About Traffic Generation – Switch to the ‘Customer First’ Approach Instead

The most important thing you need to grow your online business is more traffic to your website, right?

Well, here at ActiveGrowth, we say...forget about traffic altogether! In our first full podcast episode – Forget Traffic! Part 1 – we're going to tell you why.

It turns out that web traffic is overrated when it comes to pulling success levers for your online business. In fact, traffic is such an over-emphasized performance indicator that it usually distracts you from much more important things that actually help to grow your business.

In Episode 1: Forget Traffic! – Part 1, Shane and Hanne introduce a business strategy they like to call the Customer First approach.

Download the podcast below to see why a customer first approach is so crucial to sidestepping the grind of audience building and moving you straight towards revenue generation instead.

Introducing the ActiveGrowth Podcast: Not Just Another Internet Marketing Podcast

Welcome to the intro episode of our new ActiveGrowth podcast!

We've been hard at work this year creating a totally different kind of internet marketing podcast to go along with the new ActiveGrowth brand.

You see, podcasts are great, but we're fed up with how they all follow the same passive consumption formula. Interview a different expert each week, ask the same questions, have the expert give a short pitch for their new book or whatever.

Rinse and repeat, forever, across more podcasts than you can shake a stick at.

So we asked ourselves: can we do something completely different and still succeed?

Well, that's what we're going to find out...
