It's a simple and straight forward question - and one that is asked often: how to make money from a blog?
In today's post, I give my usual style of unconventional and strategic answer to this question.
By the end of it, you may not be swimming in passive income, but you'll have a perspective that allows you to see through a lot of marketing talk around the topics of blogging and passive income.Continue reading
There are certain fundamental principles in marketing that don’t change, no matter what you market, who you market to or what media you use. When we focus on the nuts and bolts of our particular marketing efforts – optimizing content, writing sales-copy, creating e-mail follow-ups etc. – it’s easy to get lost in details and forget about what really matters.
Here’s a short video, detailing what I believe are three of the most important, core marketing principles that can help you get more sales, more clicks, better conversions, or whatever it is that you are aiming for. What’s more, you can apply these principles straight away and test them out for yourself in the very next piece of content you create.
Here are the three core marketing principles:
This is a quick post to define the kind of business model I most frequently refer to in posts, videos and podcast episodes.
We can call this business model a “value based business”, although that’s not the only term I use. When I talk about “product and service based businesses”, I’m referring to the same thing. And when I talk about products, services and offers, I’m usually talking about it in the context of a value based business.
So, what exactly is a value based business?
How long have you been in the Internet marketing game? Can you remember what it was like when you first started out? For me, it wasn’t too long ago that I was completely oblivious to this whole “make money online” world. I already had experience with offline businesses and I even had two ecommerce/online shop sites, but I was totally clueless about everything that relates to Internet marketing as we know it. I didn’t know the first thing about search engines, I didn’t know about blogging or WordPress, I didn’t know how to create a website or even a simple web-page, I didn’t know about hosting and domains and affiliate programs or anything like that.
As I was thinking abou this, I decided to make a video containing as much useful and essential information about making money online as possible, aimed at a complete beginner (basically me, a year ago). I wanted to keep it short and to the point (attention spans are short, these days), so there could only be a very limited amount of information in the video. I had to cut it down to what I believe are the most important things a newbie needs to hear.
Here’s the result and I’d love to know what you think about it:
How can I make money online, fast? This question, or similar questions, have been popping up in my inbox occasionally. And go to any online marketing forum and you’ll doubtless see a couple of threads on this topic, as well. It seems that a lot of people get initially interested in online marketing because they are in a financial pinch and hope the Internet can get them out of it.
Below is a video in which I talk about two methods for making almost guaranteed, and fast, income online.
Don’t worry, though. This is still RQR and therefore still a hype-free zone. Video may not be quite what you expect, however…
WordPress Websites Made Easy is the first free downloadable report made available on RichQuickReview. This is a very easy-to-follow guide on how to build your first website, completely from scratch, even if you’ve never done something like this before and can’t code (hint: neither can I).
Check out this page for more details and the download link!
Obviously, I’m very excited to finally publish this guide and I’d love to get some feedback from you!
Someone asked me about affiliate banners in WordPress and I thought this might be an interesting subject for many who are just starting out with this whole affiliate marketing business.
Below, you find two short videos explaining everything you need to know about how to add affiliate banners to your WordPress blog. The first video covers the very basics and the second video goes into a little more detail, showing you how to cloak the banner-links, how to make your own banners (in case none are provided) and how to add a banner to the sidebar.
I hope you find them useful.
All the best,
P.S.: For good measure, here’s a banner:
Affiliate marketing is probably the number one thing that most internet marketers do to make money. As you might have already read in the RQR Glossary, affiliate marketing comes down to promoting and selling someone else’s products in exchange for commissions for every sale made. In this RQR Basics article, you’ll find a more in-depth explanation of what affiliate marketing is and how to get into it.
In a nutshell, article marketing is the practice of promoting a website or a product by writing articles and submitting them all over the internet. Read up on all the background info on article marketing, the benefits and drawbacks and why you should (or shouldn’t) start with it.
Affiliate marketing is an attractive business model, although the real reasons for this are rarely stated. They tend to get drowned out by all the hype. Contrary to what your average sales-pitch would have you believe, affiliate marketing isn’t super-easy and it very rarely, if ever, makes anyone rich over night. It also involves actual work, actual investments and actual effort. Just like a “real” business. Go figure. In spite of all this, there are still many reasons to love affiliate marketing. The foremost can be summarized in just one word: Scalability.
